Member Update — 2026

Amendment to Bylaw 18.9 – Qualifying Other Than at a Rally

Pony Club Victoria wishes to advise members of an amendment to Bylaw 18.9 – Qualifying Other Than at a Rally, following approval from The Board.

Current Rule 18.9 allows members to receive rally attendances for a range of Pony Club activities outside of club rallies, including qualifying competitions, instructional activities and representative events.

While intended to support member participation and flexibility, under the current rule, riders can meet rally attendance requirements for grading and competition eligibility without attending an actual club rally.

Under the updated bylaw, 18.9 Rally Attendance Other Than at a Rally – a combination may receive a maximum of one recorded rally attendance per membership year for participating in one of the following activities:

  • Attempting to qualify for a State Championship event in the same discipline as the competition.
  • Attending a Zone or State mounted instructional activity.
  • Representing their Zone or State at a State or National level event.

The amendment to Bylaw 18.9 aims to ensure that riders continue to participate in Pony Club rallies, which provide important opportunities for learning, grading, and connection, whilst still recognising involvement in selected Pony Club activities beyond regular club rallies.

The updated bylaw will apply from 1 July 2026.
