The $50 million program offers community sporting clubs grants of $25,000 to $100,000 for projects that reduce energy bills using cleaner energy, and improve resilience to climate impacts.

This new funding will help communities futureproof local sport. Up to 500 clubs will benefit, with the first round delivering $17.6 million in funding.

Grants can support upgrades such as solar and battery systems, energy audits, efficient lighting and HVAC, and infrastructure to withstand extreme weather, with options for group applications across facilities.

To help applicants, the Department will hold a webinar on 2 July. The webinar will be recorded and made available online.
