As we move further into the membership year, Pony Club Victoria would like to remind all affiliated clubs of their ongoing responsibilities regarding Working With Children Check (WWCC) verification.

As previously advised, responsibility for the management and verification of WWCCs has transitioned from the Pony Club Victoria Office to affiliated clubs. This approach aligns with Victorian legislation, industry best practice and the Child Safe Standards, ensuring clubs are responsible for verifying the suitability of the volunteers, coaches and officials they engage.

We encourage all clubs to regularly review their WWCC records to ensure they remain current and accurate. This includes:

•    Verifying that all relevant volunteers, coaches and officials hold a valid WWCC

•    Keeping an up-to-date register of WWCC numbers and expiry dates

•    Regularly checking for new WWCCs that need approval

These checks can be managed through JustGo. Regular verification is an important part of maintaining a safe environment for children and young people and helps ensure your club remains compliant with its obligations under the Child Safe Standards.

For more information, including how to review and approve WWCCs, please refer to the WWCC resource:
