Club leaders and coaches influence the everyday moments that define community sport culture — what’s encouraged, what’s tolerated and what’s addressed.

At a time when participation is declining and clubs are under pressure, building more culturally inclusive and welcoming environments is a powerful lever for strengthening retention, growing involvement and supporting healthier communities.

Set The Standard is VicHealth’s statewide campaign designed to support this opportunity. It equips coaches and club leaders with practical tools, training and guidance to prevent racism, respond effectively when it occurs and build inclusive club cultures through small, everyday actions.

This webinar will explore the research and evidence that informed the development of the campaign and highlight practical actions leaders can take to reduce and prevent racism in community sport.

Attendees will:

  • Hear the latest evidence on racism in community sport and its impact on participation, belonging and health
  • Learn how clubs can access fully subsidised anti-racism training (valued at $2,500 per club)
  • Gain practical guidance on addressing direct racism on the field and casual racism within club environments
  • Learn how to share Set The Standard tools and resources across club networks
