Naming rights sponsor — Illoura Downs Pony Club Victoria, Barwon Zone and Colac Pony Club gratefully acknowledge Illoura Downs as the naming rights sponsor for the 2026 State Horse Trials Championships. Based in the picturesque Barrabool Hills, Illoura Downs is a premium horse agistment facility built on community, care and a deep respect for the equestrian lifestyle.
Riding for Abbie — Resilience Award Across the weekend, officials, volunteers and the sponsor will be watching for the rider who best demonstrates courage and composure under pressure, a positive attitude regardless of results, good sportsmanship towards officials, volunteers and other riders, kindness and encouragement towards others, determination after a mistake, fall or setback, horsemanship that puts the horse first, and grace in both success and disappointment.
This award honours Abbie, a young rider whose life changed in an instant following a devastating fall at a pony club gymkhana that left her a quadriplegic at only 10 years old. Her courage continues to inspire all around her.
In our community, we ride together and we look after each other.
