Club Offerings
Woodend Pony Club is a small, friendly club in the Central Zone of Pony Club Victoria, based at Racecourse Reserve on Forest Street in the heart of the Macedon Ranges. With a long history in the area and a reputation for personal attention, the club supports riders from four years old through to adults, fostering skills from general horsemanship right through to competition.
Woodend’s genuine points of difference are its small-club character and exceptional breadth of age range. In contrast to larger metro clubs where riders can get lost in the crowd, small class sizes at Woodend mean every rider gets real personal attention from skilled instructors — and the club’s culture is built around members actively supporting one another. It’s also one of the few clubs in Central Zone catering for riders right through to adults, making it a natural choice for families who want to keep everyone riding together rather than splitting across multiple clubs.
The club is known for its rain-hail-or-shine commitment to 11 rallies a year — a real asset in a winter-affected region like the Macedon Ranges, where the club happily relocates to indoor arenas such as Kookaburra Park in Kyneton when weather makes the home grounds unworkable. Woodend is a great fit for families in Woodend, Macedon, Gisborne, New Gisborne, Kyneton, Lancefield, Riddells Creek, Romsey, and the wider Macedon Ranges.
