Club Offerings

Werribee Pony Club is a large, active club in the Central Zone of Pony Club Victoria, based at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre (WPNEC) on K Road, Werribee South. As the state centre for equestrian sports in Victoria, WPNEC is one of the most significant equestrian facilities in Australia — and Werribee Pony Club is one of the very few clubs in the country to call a facility of this calibre home.

Werribee’s genuine point of difference is the sheer quality and scale of its home ground. Members rally on the same site that hosts the Melbourne 3 Day International Event, the Australian Show Jumping Championships, Dressage & Jumping with the Stars, the Barastoc Horse of the Year Show, and the Equestrian Victoria Interschool State Championships. On rally days, the club has use of the dressage and showjumping sand arena, the cross country course, and — through hire — WPNEC’s indoor arena. For young riders, this means training in the same arenas that hosts some of the country’s top equestrian competition.

The club also backs up its facilities with a strong program and genuine competitive depth. Werribee offers a broad range of experienced instructors across multiple disciplines at every rally and hosts its own professionally designed PCV Horse Trials (Grades 1 through 5) — supported by sponsors including Off The Track. Members have gone on to represent at state, national, and international level, including the Pony Club Australia International Quiz Team. Werribee is a great fit for families in Werribee, Werribee South, Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook, Tarneit, Wyndham Vale, Manor Lakes, Williams Landing, Altona Meadows, and the wider Wyndham area.

FAQs

Yes, some clubs offer "Adult Riding Member" options for those 25+, but it's less common—check with your club. Most adults participate as supporters or coaches.

Membership renewals open in June via JustGo. Clubs may offer prorated fees for mid-year joins, but full benefits start January 1.

PCV welcomes beginners! Start with Come & Try days and progress through certificates (D to A levels) for skill development.

Riding memberships are for those under 25 (juniors under 17, seniors 17-24). Adults 25+ can join as supporters, coaches, or officials.

Fees vary by club but are around $200-300 annually for riding members, including national and state levies. Contact your club for precise quotes, as they add local fees for facilities and activities.

No! Many clubs offer "Riders Without Horses" options or shared horses for rallies for those without equine ownership.

Membership provides personal accident insurance (up to certain limits) and public liability coverage for approved Pony Club activities, but it doesn't cover horse veterinary costs.
