Club Offerings

Wangaratta Pony Club is a youth-focused club in the North Eastern Zone of Pony Club Victoria, based at the Wangaratta Equestrian Centre on Shanley Street. Long-established and well-regarded across the north-east, the club offers a fun, supportive environment for young riders up to the age of 25 to build horsemanship skills, compete, and connect with a wider community of families who share a love of horses.

Wangaratta’s genuine point of difference is the shared-grounds relationship with Wangaratta Adult Horse Riding Club (WAHRC) — a friendly club catering for riders aged 5 to 80. This means members aging out of pony club have an immediate, seamless pathway to continue riding at the same venue, without needing to change grounds or relocate horses. It also means two active clubs maintaining and investing in the one facility — a real benefit for the quality and frequency of equestrian life at the centre.

The club goes beyond traditional rally instruction by building practical member support into the program. Wangaratta regularly hosts visits from vets, dentists, and farriers for members, bringing essential horse care services directly to the club. It’s also a regular host of Off The Track sponsored Horse Trials events and was recently recognised with a Sport & Recreation Victoria Sporting Club Grant — a sign of how well-run and active the club is. Wangaratta is a great fit for families in Wangaratta, Milawa, Oxley, Glenrowan, Moyhu, Whitfield, Tarrawingee, Springhurst, and the wider north-east.
