Club Offerings

raralgon & District Pony Club is a welcoming, active club in the East Gippsland Zone of Pony Club Victoria, based at 20 Minniedale Road in Traralgon East. Long-established in the Latrobe Valley, the club provides a safe and supportive environment for young riders across the full East Gippsland region to develop their skills, compete locally and beyond, and be part of a strong horse-loving community.

Traralgon’s genuine strengths are its inclusive membership approach and its active calendar of entry-level and competitive events. The club runs a Riders Without Horses program — a real advantage for children who love horses but don’t own or have regular access to one — alongside full riding membership. Members also benefit from close connections across the East Gippsland Zone, with regular competition, training, and team opportunities alongside neighbouring clubs including Bairnsdale, Mallacoota, Stratford, Rosedale, and Orbost. EGZ teams featuring Traralgon riders have recently performed strongly at state championships, including the 2026 PCV State Showjumping and Dressage Championships in Warrnambool.

A calendar highlight is Traralgon’s Freshman’s Show Jumping Day, held each March — a genuinely important entry point for riders and horses who are newer to competition show jumping, giving them a low-pressure chance to experience a full course before progressing to higher grades. Traralgon is a great fit for families in Traralgon, Traralgon East, Traralgon South, Morwell, Churchill, Tyers, Glengarry, Flynn, Callignee, and the wider Latrobe Valley.
