Club Offerings
Tocumwal Pony Club is a well-established club in the Northern Zone of Pony Club Victoria, based at the Tocumwal Recreation Reserve on the Murray River. While Tocumwal itself sits just across the border in New South Wales — the gateway between NSW and Victoria on the Newell Highway — the club has been a proud PCV affiliate for over 40 years, welcoming families from both sides of the river.
Tocumwal’s genuine points of difference are its unusual location story and its remarkable cross country course. The club’s grounds, set on the town’s Recreation Reserve, offer an all-weather riding surface wrapped around a full cross country course built into a natural bush setting. Unlike most pony club courses, Tocumwal’s includes an ornamental lake, a high levy bank, a steep sand hill, and extensive bush riding — features that make it genuinely distinctive and a real drawcard for eventers who want course variety that’s hard to find elsewhere in the zone.
The club has also earned a strong competitive pedigree over the years. Tocumwal hosts its own Annual Horse Trials for all grades, and the club stepped up to host the Victorian State Championships back in 2003 — a real mark of the quality of both its grounds and its volunteer base. Tocumwal is a great fit for families in Tocumwal, Barooga, Cobram, Yarroweyah, Strathmerton, Numurkah, Nathalia, Yarrawonga, Mulwala, Finley, and the wider Murray River border region.
