Club Offerings

Swifts Creek Pony Club is a small, community-focused club in the East Gippsland Zone of Pony Club Victoria, rallying at the Ensay Recreation Reserve in the Tambo Valley. Set in the alpine country along the Great Alpine Road between Omeo and Ensay — over 370 km east of Melbourne — the club serves a tight-knit rural catchment of families who love riding in one of Victoria’s most scenic and wide-open landscapes.

Swifts Creek’s genuine point of difference is its location and its role in keeping pony club alive in a remote part of the state. Small country clubs like Swifts Creek are often the only local option for families wanting structured instruction and youth equestrian community, and the club makes that accessible by including a Riders Without Horses option — a real benefit for children who love riding but don’t have their own pony, or for whom a horse isn’t yet practical.

Rallies are held once a month across a generous full day (9:30am to 3:30pm), giving members plenty of concentrated saddle time and a strong community atmosphere. With the nearby Tambo Valley Racecourse, the Great Alpine Road, and the broader East Gippsland Zone network of clubs (including Bairnsdale, Stratford, Rosedale, Traralgon, and Orbost), Swifts Creek members are connected to wider competitive and social opportunities despite the remoteness. Swifts Creek is a great fit for families in Swifts Creek, Ensay, Bindi, Omeo, Tambo Crossing, Tongio, Bruthen, and across the Tambo Valley and high country.
