Pony Club Victoria was pleased to be able to provide our second Off The Track Masterclass for members with thanks to Racing Victoria’s Off The Track Program.

Held at the beautiful Barwon Valley Pony Club grounds (BZ), the weather was perfect and the day was well attended.

The delightful Stephanie Afif (former NMZ riding member and now coach) provided the audience with a great day of education on transitioning Off The Track horses to a new life post racing.  Stephanie is a Pony Club Australia Level 1 coach and involved in Racing Victoria’s Off The Track Re-Trainers Program.  Stephanie provided an inspiring and insightful day and provided participants and observers with the tools and skills required to obtain the best relationship possible with their horse. Her wealth of knowledge was appreciated by those who attended.

PCV riding members were given the opportunity to express their interest to participate in the practical sessions which included groundwork, flat and poles/jumping.  An information session at the start of the day gave participants a chance to learn more about the OTT horse and how to transition its new life with a pony club family.  It was pleasing to have many pony club coaches in attendance to learn more about the breed and pass that knowledge far and wide to members who were not able to attend.

This day would not be possible without the support and assistance of volunteers from BVPC, Barwon Zone, CIP and the BZ DCI/ZA panel.  Thank you to Racing Victoria for their support of these events and many thanks to the riders who participated and everyone who came along to observe.
