Open to all riders who meet the qualifying criteria

From 2027, both the State Dressage and State Showjumping Championships are open to all riders who meet the relevant qualifying criteria.

This is an exciting change for PCV and means that riders who achieve the required qualifying performances will be eligible to compete at State Championships, providing more members with the opportunity to experience competition at the highest level of Pony Club Victoria competition.

Introduction of Masters Section

The 2027 State Championships will also introduce a Masters section in all grades.

The Masters section will be open to members over the age of 25 years.

This exciting addition recognises the continued participation and commitment of our adult riders and provides Masters riders with the opportunity to compete for State Championship honours in their own section.

Importantly, Masters riders will be required to meet the same qualifying criteria as all other riders. This means clubs will need to include a Masters section at their events. To help with the additional costs this will create, The Board has agreed to subsidise ribbons for Pony Club Masters sections at Pony Club events. More information on this will be released shortly.

Riders who meet the qualifying criteria are still required to have their entry approved by the Zone. Additionally, riders who have been in Pony Club for more than two years and are aged 14 years & over must have attained their C Certificate in order to compete at any state or national competition, as stipulated in the By-laws.

2027 State Dressage Championships

The 2027 Pony Club Victoria State Dressage Championships, hosted by Central Zone, will be held on 27–28 February 2027 at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre.

The Championships will be open to riders from Advanced through to Grade 4, with a Masters section in all grades.

2027 State Showjumping Championships

The 2027 Pony Club Victoria State Showjumping Championships will be hosted by Southern Metropolitan Zone.

The date and venue are still to be confirmed.

The Championships will be open to riders from Grades A to D, with a Masters section in all grades.

The full qualifying requirements for the 2027 State Showjumping Championships are outlined in the attached documents.

Qualifying performances for the 2027 State Dressage Championships are able to be achieved from 1^st March, 2026.

The introduction of eligibility for all riders who meet the qualifying criteria and a Masters section in all grades represents an exciting new chapter for PCV State Championships.

We encourage riders, Clubs and Zones to familiarise themselves with the new requirements and start planning opportunities to achieve qualifying performances.
