The Gear Rules describe all gear that is acceptable for use at Pony Club.  “Gear” is as an abbreviation for saddlery, equipment and uniform.  Gear rules aim to ensure the safety of the rider and the comfort and safety of the horse.

Everybody! - Riders, Parents, Club & Zone Committees, Event Organizers. Don't rely on your memory, refer to the Rules.

*NEW RULE* BODY PROTECTORS

10.14 Body Protectors

It is IMPORTANT that a Body protector MUST be correctly fitted to be safe and effective. An incorrectly fitted/sized Body Protector may cause injury to the rider. Body Protectors are compulsory for Ride to Time activities & competitions.

When riding Cross Country:

Compulsory for Grade 3 and above as follows: from 1st Jan 2021 a body protector must be labelled as complying to one of the following standards:

• EN13158:2009 Level 3

• BETA 2009 Level 3

• EN13158:2018 Level 3

• BETA 2018 Level 3 Body Protectors (minimum Level 1) are highly recommended for Grades 4-6.
