25 JUNE 2021 | COVID-19 UPDATE

The Victorian Government announced on Wednesday, 23 June 2021, that restrictions will further ease across Victoria.

Major changes see density, group sizes and venue capacities aligned for Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

Restrictions will ease from 11:59PM, 24 JUNE 2021, the following is a summary of restrictions affecting members, clubs and officials conducting equestrian activity.

RUNNING EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITY

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Pony Clubs affiliated with Pony Club Victoria that are based in NSW should follow NSW COVID restrictions.
  • Please be aware of any border restrictions currently in place.  NSW Border, SA Border

BORDER COMMUNITIES

NSW - Victorian border communities 

  • Those living in our Victoria and NSW border communities will continue to be able to access the ‘border bubble’ – using their driver licence to prove their residential address. If you live in one of the border communities – you do not need to apply for a permit. More Information

South Australia - Victorian border communities 

  • Communities on the border of Victoria and South Australia will need to use the permit system.
  • For more information and to find out if your local government area is in the border zone visit.  Information for cross border communities.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR RETURN TO EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITIES

FACE MASKS

  • Must be carried at all times
  • Must be worn indoors except if at home, or if an exception applies
  • Must be worn outdoors where 1.5 metres physical distancing cannot be maintained
  • Must be worn whilst conducting gear check

CLUBHOUSES

  • Can open, density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm apply
    • Regional Victoria - if a COVID Check-In Marshal is used a density quotient of 1 person per 2 sqm applies

CANTEENS

  • Can open, density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm apply
    • Regional Victoria - if a COVID Check-In Marshal is used a density quotient of 1 person per 2 sqm applies

RALLIES, COACHING ACTIVITIES & COMPETITION

Rallies, coaching and competition can be conducted for both children and adults, following conditions apply:

  • No more than 1000 participants can be at a venue, with no more than a total of 300 participants indoors, the venue must support density quotients of 1 person per 4sqm
    • Regional Victoria - if a COVID Check-In Marshal is used a density quotient of 1 person per 2 sqm applies
    • Maximum group size: 50 participants
  • No venue limit if 100m distance can be maintained between groups (e.g. golf, large equestrian space)
  • Support staff should be kept to the minimum number to safely conduct the activity, must remain within venue capacity limits.
  • Where possible equipment is not shared by anyone.
  • Any shared or handled equipment is cleaned between use. Eg showjumping poles.
  • Where possible a group of people is assigned to manage equipment for the duration of the activity.
  • Spectators allowed within venue and space limits

COACHES

  • Must adhere to the above conditions
  • Must wear a face mask while coaching indoor.

QR CODES

All clubs and facilities must use the Victorian Government QR Code Service; you must ensure all participants, spectators and support staff/volunteers check-in.
